EVOLUTION OR CREATION? YOU DECIDE

A friend came over for dinner and we somehow got onto the topic of how everything came into being. He comes from a point of view that science has the answer for everything. My perspective on science is that it is a process that attempts to explain our world.
Since people don't change their paradigms through arguments, a win/lose scenario, I asked him just one question: "Can anything cause itself to be?" I also told him I would rather he didn't answer me but to answer it for himself.
Once we answer that question, we quickly realize that only something else can cause the existence of any other thing. And once we've wrapped our minds around that particular idea we then have to come to terms with what the First Cause is.
That becomes a problem for some and a segue for others. Which is it for you?

DRAIN THE SWAMP

POLITICALLY MOTIVATED

Deciding how to vote begins with our values. Once we know what those are, we then need to decide which political party best reflects them. (i.e. don't look for perfection; it ain't there and never will be.)

It's not about the person as much as the party. That's pretty radical, I'll admit but look at what the parties stand for.
For instance, do you believe the government should be responsible for your well-being or is it your responsibility?
(Do you see yourself as a victim or victor?)

Do you believe that socialism is better than capitalism for the American economy?
(The fundamental leanings of our two party system reflect these two opposing value systems.)

Do you believe it is wrong to take an innocent life?
(The core voters of our two main political parties are adamantly dug in on this singular issue and choose their candidates accordingly.)

Deciding how to vote ends with realizing which political party best reflects our personal values. The party will surround and influence the office holder. So, even if he or she doesn't reflect our values totally, choose the one who comes the closest on the issues dearest to you.
